Public Pages

How to configure the business information, FSRevs-collected testimonials, display choices, and featured links on your public page hosted on BestLocalReviews.com.

A public page is a structured business and testimonial page hosted on BestLocalReviews.com — not on your FSRevs workspace address. Unlike simple pages, which you build from content blocks, a public page uses your business information and public feedback collected through FSRevs.

  • Present consistent business and location details in a public, crawlable format
  • Give visitors a focused place to read testimonials you have made public
  • Add relevant website, social, menu, booking, or other featured links
  • Give search engines and AI systems more public context about the business
  • Keep global defaults consistent while allowing genuine location differences

A public page can improve the clarity and availability of your public information, but it does not guarantee search rankings, recommendations, inclusion in an AI answer, or use by any outside service.

Public page settings use a global + override architecture:

  • Global settings apply to your business as a whole and serve as defaults for all locations
  • Location overrides let you customize settings for individual locations where needed

If you don’t configure overrides for a location, it inherits the global settings. This makes it easy to maintain a consistent presence while adapting to specific locations.

  1. Open Public Page Settings under Global Settings.
  2. Check the You are editing selector before making changes:
    • Global Public Page Defaults — Business-wide edits the baseline used throughout the business.
    • A location marked Location Override edits only that location.
  3. Complete only the settings needed for that scope.
  4. Select Save Global Defaults or Save Location Changes. The save area repeats which scope will be changed.

Use the same scope selector to move between the global editor and locations you can manage. If the current page has unsaved changes, FSRevs asks before switching scope or leaving the page.

In a location editor, an unset value means inherit the Global Public Page Default. This is different from explicitly choosing Show or Hide for a display option:

  • Inherit follows the current global choice, including future global changes.
  • Show keeps the item visible at this location even if the global choice later changes.
  • Hide keeps the item hidden at this location even if the global choice later changes.

The scope summary shows how many settings are customized locally. Settings left unset are not copied; they continue using their effective global values.

Control what appears on your public page:

Setting Description
Reviewer Photos Show or hide photos submitted by reviewers
Reviewer Taglines Show or hide taglines customers provided
Owner Replies Show or hide your replies to reviews
Additional Photos Show or hide extra media attached to reviews
Review Flow Filtering Choose which review flows contribute reviews to the page

Under Choose the reviews visitors see, choose one of these behaviors:

  • All review flows — Eligible public feedback from every enabled Review Flow can appear. This is the best default for most businesses.
  • Only selected — Reviews must come from the Review Flows you choose.
  • All except selected — Reviews can come from every eligible Review Flow except the ones you choose to hide.
  • Use global — Available while editing a location; follows the current global filtering rule.

The What visitors will see summary resolves the selection and shows the effective result. Read it before saving, especially when a location inherits a global rule or a selected Flow has been disabled.

Feature up to 5 links at each scope — these can be review, social, or custom destinations from My Links. Global Featured Links form the business-wide set. Links selected for a location appear alongside those global links rather than replacing them; choosing none at the location uses only the global links.

Assign up to 5 categories that describe your business. Categories help search engines and AI systems understand and classify your business correctly.

Public pages can showcase feedback collected through your Review Flows. Only records marked Public and allowed by the effective Review Flow filtering rule can appear. You can change a record’s visibility from its Flow Activity detail or while following up in Manager Feedback.

The page can include rating visuals, review text, reviewer information allowed by your display settings, approved media, and a saved business reply. If feedback was collected with Customer Recommendation Score, the page still renders a familiar star visual, including half-star increments where needed.

Each location can have its own public page with location-specific settings. Leave a field on Use global or Inherit when the business-wide choice should keep flowing to that location. Use an explicit local value only when the location needs a real difference.

Reset actions have deliberately different scopes:

  • Reset to Global Defaults removes every saved Public Page customization for the current location. That location immediately inherits the global defaults again.
  • Reset Global Defaults removes the saved business-wide baseline and uses built-in values instead. Existing location customizations remain in place.
  • Reset All Public Page Settings removes both the global defaults and every location customization. Use this only when you intend to rebuild the complete setup.

Reset actions are shown only when your account has the required business-wide authority. Always read the confirmation, especially before resetting all settings.
